    Hi. That’s a strange one.

I’ll need to do some investigation. Can you tell me what plugin you are using for the language switcher / translations and also is French the fault language of the site?

    Thanks for your reply.

I use loco translate. Yes French is the default language.

It’s also strange because if I check “page”, it works not only in French for exeample here: https://tourdescombins.ch/en/acces-and-location/.

The problem is only for the “post”.

    Hi @gaetantornay

Ive had a look and it works perfectly when you use the language switcher in the top right corner of the site?

However I fear that its how you have organised the posts / pages of the site.

Go to the home page (any language) and click THE ROUTE -> ACCESS AND LOCATION

The Nav Shows. Now change the language (it loads the home page again) so go back to the access and location page from the menu and the nav shows.

However, in my opinion, this is an archive style page and the nav shouldn’t show on this, but it should show on each sub-page so for example the STAGE-BY-STAGE pages.

Can you show a screenshot of your page structure?

    Thank you.

    Please find a screenshot: https://tourdescombins.ch/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/tdc.png.

I would like to see the nav button on this page: https://tourdescombins.ch/en/bourg-st-pierre-mille-hut/. It’s an “article” in all languages. It works fine but only in French.

I don’t want to see the nav button on pages like access and location but it is just for the test. It works with every language. That are “pages”.

Thank you I will investigate and advise.

What theme are you using? I assume ‘articles’ and set as a custom post type somehow?

    Thread Starter gaetantornay

    (@gaetantornay)

    I use the divi theme.

I’m not sure to understand your question. On the page https://tourdescombins.ch/en/stage-by-stage/, I have inserted 6 posts (articles) from the same category (one category for each language)

    @gaetantornay thanks for the patience.

Can you go into the WP Post Nav options page and you should see an option to show the nav on Articles post type or Post post type.

Click these options and retry, but also remove Pages from the options to stop it showing on the parent pages.

Also, turn on debug mode so I can see what’s happening on the front end

I have removed all the options and reactivated?only the posts: https://tourdescombins.ch/wppostnav.png

It always works only in French.

I have turned on the debug mode

hmmmm, really puzzled by this to be honest.

When switching the language, it adds an additional url to the domain (/en/ /de/ etc and changes the language in the head of WordPress on the front end.

All the styles etc for the Nav are loaded, but the display isn’t, which is simply hooked into wp_footer function so im not really sure what’s happening.

Loco translate doesnt include a language switcher (what you click in the menu to change language) so what other language plugin are you using (wpml for example?)

It must be an issue with the language switcher which is blocking it from loading.

all the scripts and styles load but not the display which uses wp_footer to work. I will see if I can find out why
