    I have purchased Multilanguage Pro.

    I don’t see any option to define translations of Custom Links in the WP Menu system.

    Custom Links are necessary to run submenus off a parent menu item, which is not connected to a specific page or post.

    As a result, we have a navigational menu that is part English and part French: (example at: https://alweezgrooven.com/ )

    A suggested solution would be under ‘Menu Structure > Custom Link > Navigational Label’ to add additional Navigational Label fields for each active language: ‘Navigational Label (en_CA)’ , ‘Navigational Label (fr_FR)’ , etc.

    Aside from this issue, I’m quite pleased with majority of the functionality in this comprehensive plugin.

    Hi,

    Multilanguage plugin provides a functionality for displaying different menus for different languages.

    Please complete the following:
    1) Go to the menu edit page (Admin Panel -> Appearance -> Menus);
    2) Create menus for each of your languages with necessary fields set;
    3)
    a) Select the menu location in “Menu Settings” block (https://prntscr.com/ap96j8);
    or
    b) Select which menu appears for each of selected languages on your site in “Manage Locations” tab (https://prntscr.com/ap96u5);
    4) Save changes.

    Thanks. This wasn’t the solution I had anticipated, but nicely resolves our issue.

    Much appreciated,

    Hi,

    Just reading your explanation here. Can I create different menus with the free version of the plugin? I don’t seem to be able to do so??
    Thank you in advance!

    Caroline

    …sorry, I meant can I display different menus for different languages with the free version?

    Aaaaargh…. Sorry, really struggling with this! I had started with the english website, then installed the plugin to add the spanish version. What I did was to translate each page separately as well as their title. They all appear on the menu, in english and in spanish, apart from the ones who are part of a submenu or have custom links, just like Sean who initially posted the question.

    So now, how can I create the menu in Spanish when all my pages are in english, meaning they don’t appear in the suggested menu pages. Do I first need to create them as pages again. Any help would be really gratefully received!! I’m really new in this! Thank you in advance!!

    Hi Caroline,

    how can I create the menu in Spanish when all my pages are in english …?
    The menu will be translated automatically if it is a standard menu that consists of the existing pages.
    Ability to create different menu for different languages is available in the Pro plugin version.
