    Hihi Chimps,

I installed your plugin and it works quite well. Still some open question:

The Form shows everything with the text I gave it in the form builder. This was all written in german. But the field that gets the mail adress shows exactly this “Email Address*” and not “AdressE” (the german translation). How can I change that?

Can I somehow change the place, where the sucess message appears? It appears above the form but i would rather have it below.

Can I translate this sucess message?

Last thing is that my fields dont have borders, so its just (clickable and editable) white space. Can I give this fields a border?

    Greetings
    Markus

    Hey @markusvienna

Thanks for posting. I can certainly help address each of these questions regarding translating the form text and success message as well as placing the success message and field borders.

In order to thoroughly troubleshoot, could you provide the following details?
    — Can you provide a link to your website where this behavior is occurring?
    — Could you provide screenshots of the specific text you were trying to translate?
    — Could you also provide a screenshot of how these fields without any borders appear on your end?

Additionally, if we could gather some environment details, this will also be helpful in testing things out.

    — What is the version of the List Subscribe being used?
    — What is the version of WordPress being used?
    — What theme is activated on the site? Do these issues persist when the current theme is deactivated?
    — What plugins are currently activated on the site? If it’s possible to test this, do these issues persist when all of the plugins except the List Subscribe plugin are deactivated?

Thanks in advance for providing us all of this very helpful information. I’ll keep an eye out for your reply.

    Hi,

    so the site is: https://www.biofeedback-akademie.com/biofeedback-ausbildung/anmeldung/
The Theme used is the Universe Theme: https://themeforest.net/item/universe-education-responsive-wordpress-theme/7145660
I am using Version 1.5.7 of your plugin and 4.7.2 of WP.

I already managed to translate the text, since I saw you already answered this (sorry for not checking beforehand).

Here is a screen of the border-problem I am talking about:

Deactivating everything is not possible atm, but can be done.

    Thanks in advance and greetings

    Ok,

i figured out the border, it was in the themes CSS and I changed it sucessfully ??

Now only the place of appearance of the sucess message is left ??

    Greetings

    Hey @markusvienna

Glad to hear you were able to sort out that border! ??

As for the success message, while there are not built-in settings to specifically control where and how that success message will appear, it can be edited in the plugin files themselves. While we aren’t experts with working in code, I’d like to help point you in the right direction here.

You can make these changes by navigating to the WordPress Admin Panel > Plugins > locate the “MailChimp” plugin and click “Edit”.

Here you’ll be viewing the mailchimp.php file. Within this file, you can locate the class class=’mc_success_msg’ and edit the specific text and where it appears on the site. If you’re not familiar with working in the code of the plugin, I’d definitely recommend leaning on a developer on your team, or enlisting the help of a developer on MailChimp’s Experts Directory located here: experts.mailchimp.com

If you do have any questions moving forward, please let us know!

    Hi @markusvienna & @mcsupport

how can I translate the “Email Adress” into the German “Email Adresse” in the widget?

    Greetings,
    Bianca

    Hey @bwort

In order to change the “Email Address” text, it will be necessary to edit the List Subscribe plugin file code itself. There are not built-in tools for translating the field, but I can certainly pass that feedback along. In the meantime, I’d recommend following these steps:

    1. Within the WordPress Admin Panel, click “Plugins” in the sidebar
    2. Find the MailChimp plugin and select “Edit” to access the plugin files for editing
    3. Locate the mailchimpSF_add_email_field function and edit the text “Email Address” as pictured in this screenshot: https://cl.ly/2C2r1z2x2c3z
    4. Click the blue “Update File” button to save those changes
    5. Navigate back to Plugins > MailChimp > Settings
    6. Select the “Update List” button to force the plugin to check with the file changes made and apply those updates made to the file.

I would recommend some caution when editing plugin files as they can change the way the plugin is setup. If you make any errors, I would recommend deactivating and deleting the plugin and then re-adding it.

If you have any further questions, feel free to let us know!
