    Hi there,

I need help for a translation routine.
I use the WordPress plugin “3DPrint”. Some buttons have to be translated into German, which is only partly stored in the databases.
By default, buttons such as “next” and “back” are not translated into German and are available in English. I can translate this very easily with Loco. Unfortunately, once the 3DPrint plugin receives an update, the translation will not be applied. Then I have to recompile and save the individual buttons.

Is there a routine or way that the translations are preserved after an update of “3DPrint”?

    Hi there,

many thanks for the answer. Unfortunately, even with the FAQ it is not entirely clear to me whether the translation is saved in the correct directory. In the translation settings, I made two screenshots:
Once there is talk of a template file and the directory is displayed. Is the directory set correctly?
In the second screenshot you can see the translation status of the plugin again. Under “folder/Ordner” is only “directory of the package”. Unfortunately that doesn’t tell me anything. I neither see a directory nor do I know which package is meant (loco plugin? translation plugin?)

It says in German that your file is saved under the Author folder. As per the FAQ, don’t save anything in this folder. The location of the template file not relevant to this. Follow the advice in the help files about where to save your translations. If you need to move files you’ve already saved, use the Relocate tab. (Click on the file “3dprint-de_DE.po” and then “Verschieben”).
