Stupid question perhaps. Want to use GIVE in a swedish context. But all forms etc are in English. So the plugin cannot be used as it is. It’s not credible to ask for money from people displaying mixed languages on the site.
See that 58% is translated to Swedish, why not release the frontend translations immediately (1-2% of all translations)? If you wait for all documentation snips to be fixed you will never go live, it’s like thousands of posts to translate…
GIVE is more or less useless for Sweden which is a pity since it’s seems to be a superb crowdfunding platform.

  • Hi @aflodal
The translations of WordPress are ”crowd-funded”. Anyone with an account may suggest translations, and translation editors will check those translations (which may take some time, since they are volunteering their time, too).
The system will automatically generate language packs for plugins and themes once at least 95% of the strings have been translated and approved. (Readme strings are NOT included in this calculation, and are usually propagated whenever translated, without any threshold.)

So, you’re very much welcome to help translating this plugin. We’ve got a document about getting started translating to Swedish, which will help you getting up to speed in no time, avoiding some of the pitfalls. You’ll find it at https://wpsv.se/engagera-dig/stilguide-for-oversattningar/
