I installed Translatepress after I decided to make my site dual lingual and after I designed and published my site. So dual language only and just a one-pager. I translated everything and configured it according the instructions and it initially worked within the same browser I was editing in.

However on any other device I was not able to and I received the following message in the bowser: “myurl/nl/” cannot be opened as there are too many links that direct. This problem may occur if you are trying to open a page that contains links that direct to another page that redirects to the original page (translated from Dutch).

In the mean time the second language (Dutch) does not open in any browser and gives the above error message.

    Thank you for your help!

Could the translated Elementor Navmenu widget be the cause, as it may link back to the Englisch menu anchor link?

    Hello,

Thank you for getting in touch with us!

Even in English, it doesn’t seem to be working properly.

The menu anchor links should not redirect, but send you to the respective section.

I do not get any errors when trying to access a menu link from your website, I get redirected to the main language.(As the translated links do not contain /nl in them)

Can you please try enabling “Force language in custom links”? You can find that in TranslatePress->Settings->General.

Also, try retyping the links by going to Appearance –> Menus and see if the issue persists.

Let me know how this goes.

    Best regards,

I had the same problem with this plugin and Elementor.

The workaround was to make this change in the tab ‘General’ of the TranslatePress plugin:

Use a subdirectory for the default language –> set to No.

    Happy it works now!

We have just written a detailed tutorial on translating Elementor content on our blog: https://translatepress.com/translate-elementor-site/
