    Good morning: I’ve been looking for a couple of weeks to solve a problem with the translatepress database. This database has grown to a size that my hosting provider cannot handle (2.9 GB).
    What I have done so far:
    1.- I have compacted my databases and the size has not changed significantly
    2.- I have disabled two of the 5 languages that I had and the size of the database has not been reduced.
    3.- I have reviewed in the different forums and I find that:
    3a.- for two years other users have the same problem
    3b.- Translatepress informs that it is within its roadmap to develop some utility to “remove data” from the wp_trp_ * tables
    3c.- As of today, it seems that there is no solution for this problem.

    I hope that I am wrong and my search for a solution for this problem.

    Anyone in the community who can suggest what can be done?

    Hi,

    Check if you have duplicate entries in your *trp_* tables from the database. If you do, you can use the Remove duplicate rows option from TP Settings –> Advanced tab to clear them.
    Also, you can look at this custom plugin for disabling the gettext translation, just for testing.

    If the issue persists probably we will need to investigate in detail, that’s why I suggest opening a ticket on our website.

    Dont works, now the database goes to 3 Gb. Grow and the old languages dont disapear…

    How to proceed?

    Hi again,

    I suggest trying with this plugin: https://translatepress.com/docs/developers/disable-translation-of-gettext-strings/
    It will deactivate the translation of gettext string.
