Translated Strings removed on settings change

Previously translated strings (Theme Mod）are intermittently removed when settings are changed.
When I change a widget or make an adjustment in the content being read into the Polylang strings translations, it deletes/resets other strings which have been previously translated.
Short of saving each separate string, is there a download/backup option?
(btw – the page/links for translations works great! easy to see what has / has not been translated)
