On my site I have English as the default language and I have about 8 other languages which I have all created with WPML. I do manual translation for each product, page etc.

Regardless of the status of the English item. When I translated it and click “Save & Close” with all fields completely translated. The translated item saves as a draft. I then need to go to each language, find the item, and change the status to “published” one by one.

Is there not some setting where this can be done automatically? I see no reason why the item needs to go be “Draft” when I have already said that it is complete by clicking the checkbox under each field and making sure the progress bar is at 100%.

I think this changed recently I did not have this problem at the beginning. Could you help me put the correct settings so my stuff gets published automatically?

Similarly, when I DELETE an english item/product/page etc. I want that all my translated versions are also deleted. This seems to not happen. I need to delete each language manually.

I have a LOT of produtcs/pages etc. and a lot of languages. It would be great if this can be done automatically.

    Hello @jkocken,

If you have the “Publish the translated post when original is also published (default)” setting in WPML > Settings > Translated documents options, this shouldn’t happen.

However, it that’s already the case, we can’t provide you support in this forum as this is a WPML related question and there is a no commercial support policy allowed here on WordPress forums.

As you are using WPML, please go to our support forum and open a chat there, we have all the required tools to assist you and we will be happy to help you to solve this issue quickly.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Thanks. That helped.

I checked this: “Publish the translated post when original is also published (default)” setting in WPML > Settings > Translated documents options. which was set correctly. But just below that was another one:

“When you publish the original post, Publish the post translations” which was not set correctly. Hopefully that resolves the matter. Otherwise I will go to the WPML support forum.
