Hi, I am using the latest RankMath with the latest free version of PolyLang. My Posts and Categories are translated into two languages.

In the RankMatk Sitemap settings, I have Posts and Categories set up to be included in their respective sitemaps.

The Post sitemap correctly includes posts from both languages.

The Category sitemap only contains the default language categories. I have tried enabling the option to include empty terms in the sitemap (despite the translated categories not being empty) with no luck.

There are no cache plugins installed on the website.

Can you please advise how to debug this?

    Thank you.

I tried changing the number of links in a sitemap and then regenerating permalinks, as I found in one of your support threads, with no luck.

    Hello @klaro

Thank you for contacting the support.

In the Rank Math plugin, we let the translation plugins add the hreflang tag to the posts/pages/categories/etc. instead of showing the translated pages in the Sitemaps.

That is one of the recommended methods from Google.

Also, we might not be 100% compatible with the Polylang plugin yet but we will be releasing an update in the coming weeks that will bring 100% compatibility.

In the meantime, if you want, you can check all the compatible products here:

Hope that helps. If there’s anything else we can help you with, please let us know.

Seems strange that you do provide the translated Pages and Posts in the sitemap, but not the Categories? But yeah, happy for the hreflang if nothing else.

If you need a hand with displaying the translated categories, let me know and I can try to make it work.

    Hello @klaro

For that, you can get the code from the following PR:
    https://github.com/polylang/polylang/pull/373

    Hope that helps. Thank you.
