    Hello,

There is still a question: translate press plugin states ” By default, we are also blocking crawlers from triggering automatic translations on your site, as this can also result in unwanted costs from texts that maybe you didn’t want translated.”

However, as I understand that I need to make sure that Google can crawl each language. Otherwise, if Google can’t index it, my multilingual WordPress site wont rank.

So, if I block (disable) crawlers from our multilingual website, then all translated text will be stored in a database and Google crawlers won’t crawl those pages. But then how would the text be presented on search engine in different countries?

    Could you clarify this please.

    Thank you

  • Hello,

Thank you for bringing up this important question. I’d be happy to clarify how TranslatePress handles crawlers and the impact on your multilingual website’s indexing by search engines.

TranslatePress has a feature that blocks crawlers from triggering automatic translations by default. This helps prevent unwanted costs from translating texts that may not require translation. However, it’s important to note that this feature only restricts the triggering of automatic translation for strings that were previously untranslated.

When a crawler accesses your website, TranslatePress’s code can be manipulated to specify whether you want to translate the untranslated strings from a page that the crawler accesses. This means that crawlers can still crawl and index the content of your multilingual website. The translated text will be stored in the database and presented on search engines in different countries.

By blocking crawlers from triggering automatic translations, TranslatePress ensures that you have control over which strings get translated and prevents unnecessary translation costs. It allows you to optimize your multilingual website’s content for search engines while still providing translations for your international audience.

If you have further questions or concerns regarding this feature or any other aspect of TranslatePress, please don’t hesitate to let us know. We’re here to assist you.

    Best regards,
