Translate press only works when logged in

Hi I downloaded translate press yesterday to translate a website from polish to english.
The website was mostly translated, but when I logged out to check progress and make sure everything looked good, the website is still fully in polish even when the english version is selected.
If i am logged in on wordpress, everything is available in polish and english and the website functions as needed. But only when i am logged in and only on one coputer?

I have tried most of the trouble shooting steps suggested and clearing cache.
Now I have found that sometimes the page works: for example if i type a non existent url after the slash and it comes up with “error this page does not exist” and headers/menu items are then in english; but once i click one one, the page is back to polish again.

Any suggestions?
