I understand that you want to translate the Download button from Spanish to English under the My Accounts page, correct?

Can you please try to switch to the default Storefront theme and only WooCommerce plugin is enabled and see if this works?

If so, then this kind of problem is usually caused by your theme or a third-party plugin present on your site. We can run a conflict test to verify this. I’d recommend cloning your site to a staging environment and performing the tests described on this guide without modifying your live site or impacting customers. Many hosts provide staging facilities, so it’s worth checking in with them. It’s also possible to do it using the free WP Staging plugin.

If this was caused by a third-party plugin present on your site, it would be best to reach out to the developers for further assistance here.

If this did not resolve the issue, please share your System Status Report, that will help us further troubleshoot.

You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it into your reply here.

If you could also provide the fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

I have tried again switching to Storefront theme and disabling all plugins but Woocommerce and WPML ( I have to leave this one too, because my native web language is spanish and otherwise my account does not exist in english ), but as mentioned earlier, this does not help.

Thanks for sharing the System Status Report.

WC Database Version: 7.2.0

As a first step, please update your WooCommerce database by going to WooCommerce > Status > Tools > Update Database since you are already using an updated version of your WooCommerce core, 7.2.2.

Meanwhile, have you tried to translate the text string using the Loco Translate plugin? Here’s their support documentation for your reference: https://localise.biz/wordpress/plugin#guides

Hello again, and thank you for your help.

So far I haven’t been able to find the text with Loco Translate though ( by going to Loco Translate->Plugins->Woocommerce and adding english to the list ).

I re-checked again your first screenshot to compare this on my personal site under the My Accounts page, however, I am unable to reproduce the issue on my end.

Under My Accounts > Downloads, this is what I’m seeing, the Download button is labeled as the filename of the downloadable product as you can see below:

If the default behavior of the button was modified by a custom code or your theme or a third-party plugin present on your site, it would be best to reach out to the plugin’s developers for further assistance here.

The default behaviour of the button was not modified, but the label to be displayed in the Download column was.

When switching to the english WordPress editor in Products, this field is blocked: “This field translation is blocked because WPMl will copy its value from the original language.”

However, this label is offered for translation on each product from Woocommerce Multilingual, as I already mentioned in my first post:

Nevertheless, this was not working and it remained in the original language as you can see. My question is then… Is it possible to translate this field? It does belong to Woocommerce, right?

As an alternative, you can use the plugin Say What? to change (translate) specific strings on your site.

Let us know if that worked for you.

I don’t think Say What? is a plugin that might solve my issue, because it would just change the text in one language, and I intend to keep “Descargar aquí” for spanish, and “Download here” for english.

I did some testing and seems like most translation plugins won’t be able to translate it as it’s not part of the PO file which these plugins work with.

This is a fairly complex development topic. I’m going to leave it open for a bit to see if anyone is able to chime in to help you out.

I can also recommend the WooCommerce Developer Resources Portal for resources on developing for WooCommerce.
