Transferring content to new theme.

  • I am currently using “State of Mind” and have found that it is no longer being updated. Because I want to put a Pay Pal button on my site, I have been told I need a “live” theme for security reasons.

    Can anyone give me advice/feedback on how to transfer content from my old theme to a new one? I tried to simply install a new theme, and this made a mess of my content. I also have TWO sidebars on the “State of Mind” theme that I reverted to, and this may matter when looking for a new them, not sure.

    Thanks for any help in advance. Please mention the security issue with Pay Pal.

  • The content is stored in the database, not in your theme. The theme is the presentation (how it looks) of your site.

    If you install a new theme you may need to play around with the configuration a bit to get it how you want it such as widgets/theme settings etc

    Please mention the security issue with Pay Pal.

    PayPal will have to take care of it, not WordPress or themes.
