Transferred website to new server causing error

Well, apparently I have to create the database. Wish me luck have never done this.

Not hard. If you can’t figure how just ask your host support. I am sure they will set it up for you.

Once you get the DB info and password you will need to edit the wp-config.php file with the new credentials.

Our original site is: https://www.hunterdonbrewing.com/

We set up a new DNS record at:https://www3.hunterdonbrewing.com/

I’d copied all the files and all of the database onto the new server. Then I did a search and replace for https://www.hunterdonbrewing.com/and replaced it with https://www3.hunterdonbrewing.com/

Our homepage works but none of our links. Should I not have done a search and replace? All the content is there it’s just not showing up. For some reason the links don’t work.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Is permalink turned on? If not, turn it on. If by chance it is on already, turn it off and see if the links work.

Okay, that fixed it sort of. I changed the permanent links back to plain and now all of the links work. But if I try and change it back to the custom permanent link I was using which was /%category%/%postname%/ none of the links work. Why is it if I set the permanent links to anything but plain they don’t work?

Might need to check the .htaccess file to make sure it’s correct.
