• Hi all,

I’m currently in the process of creating a website for the school I work for. We have an off-site webserver which currently hosts our nasty basic .html website. I’m creating a new one with WordPress on a ESXi Virtual server which I hope to transfer over onto our main webserver when it’s complete.

How easy is this to do? I’m guessing i’d have to xfer my Xampp folder, copy across the MySQL database and all of the wordpress data.

    Many thanks

    Lawrence

Thanks for the quick response Chris. When I transfer it across will it matter if the server names are different?

    Thanks

    Haux

You can transfer WordPress from / to most anyplace including different servers and domains.

The trick is to change the right things, The instructions are pretty good. If you wander through the Forums for a few days you can see people that have made almost every goof possible and learn from them.

Also if you have questions about the exact steps – you can write a summery and the people here will help.
