• Good morning WordPress,

I’m new here, and I am somewhat new to WordPress.

I already got a bunch of info, like the Role Scoper problem when using Simple Staff List (turning off Role Scoper to add/edit Staff members).

we just recently got our site re-done.

now we need to take it from the developer’s server and put it onto our server.

also we need to change the URL from his site name to ours.

the old site is https://www.groch.com (which is on our server in the office)
the new site is https://www.charlesknox.ca/groch/ (which is on his server)
Test new server & new URL is https://www.groch.com:81/

can someone give me a clue as to how to do all of this?

I have read the other FAQs & How-Tos, but haven’t been able to do it successfully.

notice how on the groch.com:81 all the links are still pointing to the developer’s site and not mine.

    Thanks in advance!

yeah I did that, but we are having trouble since we need to change both servers & URL.

dunno where I should start first, I just came off fixing the URL.

I changed it so now we could no longer get in, but good news for us, I found this site and the answer to that problem LOL

The setting can be found via the Administration Dashboard under Settings -> General -> Site URL, or ask your developer to change the wp_options table on the database directly.
Either way the setting is in the database and your developer should probably do this for you.

Full instructions are on the link above under the headline ‘On Your Existing Server’

so which should I start with?

changing the URL or changing the server?

I must sound tech-tarded but I’m not the developer lol
