transfering the whole wordpress site do a different server

HEy Wpyogi,

thats what I did but I have some problems :

some of the posts’ pictures are not showing up,
and the fonts are different

is there a way that when I copy / transfer the wordpress to a different server everything will copy as it is on the old one?

I think you need to follow these instructions a bit more carefully. Moving a WordPress site to a new server is not as simple as copying files from one server to the other. You need to export your database, then import it on your new site using the WordPress Importer.

Also, if the file paths/domain name has changed you need to change those – possibly with a plugin –

So, export the database, and then import it to the new site, also use the plugins to change the paths of the links…

now!

1.install the new wordpress on the new site.
2.export the database from the old server
3.import the database, change the links, import the images

right?

And move the files if you want them…
