Transfering one blog contents to a new blog

  • I have a wp blog through my server (1&1).
    Wanting a bit more flexiblity that the template within the server allows I have opened a new blog. I would like to transfer all the previous contents of the old blog to the new one is there an easy way to do this?

  • What version are you using?

    Newer versions of wordpress have an export/import functionality. Look under “Manage”

    I am using the latest version for my new blog…. I think also for the template within 1& 1 is the latest also as I just updated.. I will follow your suggestions thanks

    I have tried to export the files from the blog and only one page transfers? All Archives do not upload. Any suggestions

    Thanks your suggestion worked with one major problem I export the old blog and the file shows all the info– but only one page displays on the WP new blog is there something else that I need to do?
    The code does show all the info has been saved.Help! before I can close down my old URL to trransfer to the new wp blog as the same url I want to have all perviously posted items show???
