    Hi there,

This is my first hosting transfer and I think I screwed it up royally and I was hoping someone in this forum can help me fix it. This is the steps I did.

    1) I transfered hosting from godaddy to bluehost. The bluehost default screen comes up.
    2) I ftped into my goddaddy account and download all the files from godaddy’s web hosting onto my computer so that I have all the files.
    3) Uploaded all the files via ftp into my bluehost’s /public.html directory and now I get the http 500 internal server error page.

I am a newbie at this and this is my first site. I know that I must be missing something or else it would have just worked.

My question is can someone please provide me with a step by step on what I missed and how to fix it. I would be truly grateful.

By the way, I am using wordpress.

    Sincerely,
    Adrian

Did you point your domain’s name servers to the BlueHost domain servers then wait for that to ‘resolve’?

Yes, that is all done. I even had a chat with the bluehost chat. Not very useful. All he told me was to get my content over to /public.html which I did yesterday and that was when I got the error page.

I think I might have missed a step but darn if I know what it is.

    Please advise,
    Thanks,

BTW, my site name is https://megettingskinny.com
