Transfer Subdomain from one site to its own seperate site

I built a website on a subdomain (https://example.com/newsite) and I want to transfer the newsite to its own stand alone domain (https://newsite.com).

I transferred all the files and database over and the home page shows up, but I can’t get into the admin without being re-routed to (https://example.com/newsite/wp-admin). Also, all the links and pages still go to (https://example.com/newsite/page) instead of (https://newsite.com/page).

Can someone please help me with instructions as simple as possible? The site is currently live now.
