    Hi there,

we’ve just purchased the PRO version, since we have to activate the Google Consent Mode.

I appreciate your hard work and great support, and don’t want to offend you. But why don’t you include proper installation information? I know, of course, how to install a plugin. But what I wanted to avoid, at all cost, was to go through all settings again. This is why we purchased the PRO. To be honest, there are less pricey alternatives on the market (Borlabs), but I wanted to stay with Complianz, since all settings were done and working.

How can I transfer the settings to the PRO version?

I sent you the same question via the premium contact form. However, I thought that this information might be valuable for other users. This is why I posted it here, too.

    Thank you very much.

    Mike

  • Hello.

It’s not surprising that my question was completely ignored, and overall, if you are using the FREE version and have urgent questions, they are also ignored. I downloaded this “Wonder” plugin to my local PC, configured it properly, and thoroughly tested it. I decided to export the settings for free, and then it turned out that importing them is paid. I asked the developers here how to transfer settings, but they ignored me. Well, I thought, okay. I didn’t keep a table in the database to transfer, only the export file remained, and since they didn’t respond and I became curious if it’s worth the money. But it turns out, my friend has a PRO version, and as long as they respond, today we decided to import the settings, and what do you think? Nothing, it practically doesn’t transfer anything, and the plugin in management is completely different, so it only transferred colors, and buttons of agreement, etc., didn’t transfer at all. Agreement pages, Privacy, nothing transferred, and all of this needs to be added manually again. So, I think your question is more of a statement and an answer. They were reluctant to give people free import and export, and when people buy the paid plugin, they become victims of deception like you did. They lure with export, and when a person has no way out, they are forced to buy their plugin. Investigating their code of the free plugin, this plugin in the import zone does not have functionality at all. The button is simply blocked as disabled. Remove this value, and it becomes active immediately, and the settings are not imported because this plugin does not have an import function, and in the paid version, it simply does not take these settings from the free one.

    ITS my topic

OK, that’s bad news. Thanks for the input. Honestly, I’ve found the support here pretty good and can’t complain at all so far.

    Hi @cutu234,

You can Export and Import your Complianz settings under Complianz -> Tools -> Data. This will include all of your Complianz Wizard settings, Cookie Banner styles and such.

To create the Legal Document pages, you’d have to click the “Create pages” button once more under Complianz -> Wizard -> Documents -> Create documents, as the settings export contains the Wizard settings to generate these; but not the actual WordPress page that contains the document.

I’m not entirely sure how @power2009’s post above relates to your question though, but I will answer them separately in their own thread.

    Kind regards, Jarno

Thank you. I’m not quite sure that I fully get the idea. Installing the PRO removed the free version. So, do I have to switch back to free, and export the data there?

With all due respect: This crucial MUST be included in the purchase confirmation email.

    Hi @cutu234,

No, this is not the case. If you installed the Pro plugin “on top” of the Free plugin, your settings will persist in the database of your website and you don’t have to import/export anything, really.

But of course, as the Pro plugin will add various new options in the Wizard; we would definitely recommend re-visiting the Wizard once more to make sure that those questions are answered as well.

    Kind regards, Jarno

Yes, I used the free version before and installed the PRO in addition to that. So, everything should just work fine? I would just have to activate the consent mode?

Well, easier said than done. The documentation is quite unclear about this. But this is probably a topic for the premium support.

    Hi @cutu234,

Your Free settings will indeed persist after you install the Pro plugin.

You can follow these instructions to implement Consent Mode: https://complianz.io/consent-mode-for-7-0/

That’s great. Of course, I found this page about the consent mode. Honesty, I don’t understand a single word. First of all: Where is the settings page for enabling the consent mode? I simply can’t find it. And what exactly is a “tag template”.

    (@jarnovos)

    Hi @cutu234,

The settings will be located in the Wizard under Consent -> Statistics and Statistics – configuration the available settings will depend on whether you’re using Tag Manager or if you want to place the Google Tags with Complianz directly.

The Tag Template is applicable when using the GTM implementation of Consent Mode.

Please know that I’m glad to assist, but on these forums I am only allowed to do so for the Free plugin.

    Kind regards, Jarno

Thank you very much. I will switch to premium support to avoid any trouble here.
