• I have a plugin on one of my sites which I want to copy and place on my other site as it is exactly the same.
I copied the file from the original site onto my desktop then made it into a zip and tried uploading into my other site but it fails and wont install

    Any Ideas?

    Thanks

  • What does it say when it fails?

Also: When you say you want to copy it to your other site – do you just want to copy the plugin, or are there settings that also need to be copied? Those are stored in the database, so you’re probably just going to have to just set the plugin up again on the new site if that’s the case.

you need to zip your plugins one-by-one and upload it to another site, except you`re zip all plugins folder and upload into your new site via cpanel and extract via cpanel (not wp admin dashboard)

I just want to copy the plugin as it is as the settings will be slighty different (product price)

I just cant figure what I am doing wrong

Why this way and not through wp dashboard?

You should be able to do it through the wp dashboard, as long as you zipped up the right folder.

i`ve done it before and did not work for me if all plugins in one zip and upload via wp dashboard. maybe i am unlucky, but via cpanel works like a charm

Are you uploading it through the Media Library? It won’t work that way because it’ll end up in the wrong location.

You can’t zip up all the plugins in the same zip file, of course – but the OP has said he was just trying to transfer one plugin. It should work just fine for that. You’ll need to use the “Upload” tab on the “Add Plugins” page.

I am using parralels plesk panel

Can someone give me the steps to copy a plugin from one site and place in another

    Please

do you have ftp access? on both of your site? it’s more easy using FTP than plesk panel

if yes, you just need to download your plugin folder and upload it to your another host via FTP too
