• Need to transfer an old WordPress 5.1 site using php 3.2.1 to a new WordPress install on a new machine. It is self hosted on our network using WAMP server 2.0. Most of the plugins have updates that have not been done. What would be the best way to do the transfer.

I would start by installing current versions of all of the plugins on the new server, while leaving the old one untouched. Then export the content and import it to the new one (making sure you select the option to download and import file attachments).

You’ll probably find most things work fine, but a certain amount of manual correction is needed. That’s heavily dependent on your content and plugins.

Thanks Tellyworth. So just to be clear install the latest WAMP on the new machine. Install the latest WordPress. Install all the plugins on the new WordPress. Then finally import the content from the old instance.

Yes, that’s a good starting point.
