tranfer domain from wordpress com to wordpress org

    I am in the process of transferring our blog from wordpress.com to www.remarpro.com and I have a domain registered with another company.
    I am looking to host my new site on bluehost.
    Also when I am filling out the filezilla ftp login I am finding issues it wont connect. I am not sure where to find all the right credentials for the ftp login.
    Where do I start?
    I have downloaded the xml from my old site that isn’t a problem. I don’t know how to upload it and install wordpress on my new bluehost site.

    WordPress.com has a great guide on that, and I recommend following it in this case: https://move.wordpress.com

    You’ll need to clear up FTP connectivity issues with Bluehost, as they control that. My guess though is that they told you to use the domain as the hostname, but your domain is still directed to WordPress.com, hence the error (WordPress.com doesn’t offer FTP access).

    You should probably start by directing your domain name to Bluehost. To do that, get your hosting account’s name servers from Bluehost, then change your name servers at your domain registrar (consult your domain registrar’s documentation for this).

    I had a fair idea this was the case with the name servers and my registrar, just trying to contact their support team atm to change the nameservers.
