It appears that Step 1 is fired upon viewing the Checkout page, not the Cart.

Is there any way to track viewing of the Cart page?

I am looking to track a goal funnel ie. Product -> View Cart -> Checkout -> Conversion.

    Thanks,
    Jason

    Hi Jason,

    Thank you for contacting us!

Our plugin is designed in such a way to track the Woocommerce Checkout Steps which we fired only on the Checkout Page of your store, followed by the Cart Page.

We have classified the Checkout steps as per the different(& logical) part of the Page to identify the user interaction on that Page as well as the Drop-off. Kindly find the details of the Checkout Step below:

Checkout Step 1 – Checkout View: This step is fired when the Checkout Page of the store is loaded; while the user enters the Checkout Page of your store.

Checkout Step 2 – Billing Info: This step is fired when the user starts filling the Billing form on the Page.

Checkout Step 3 – Proceed to Payment: This step indicates that the user has completed filling the form and going to proceed for Payment process by clicking on “Proceed to Payment” button.

Currently, it is not possible to change this in our plugin otherwise it will result in data discrepancy in your analytics account.

    Hope this addresses your concern!

    Thanks & Regards!

Sorry I don’t quite understand your answer.

    What do you mean by

which we fired only on the Checkout Page of your store, followed by the Cart Page.

Irrespective of any “data discrepency”, can the Cart page funnel be tracked or not? Most Woocommerce installs funnel the user from cart to checkout so I don’t understand why this event wouldn’t be tracked.

    Cheers,
    Jason

    Hi Jason,

By this, “which we fired only on the Checkout Page of your store, followed by the Cart Page.” we meant that our plugin will track Checkout Steps only on the Checkout Page of your store, not on Cart page (which is the Best Practice to track the Checkout steps).

Ideally, checkout steps are tracked where actual checkout will be done (i.e.the checkout page); Cart page is not a part of the checkout page since both the pages have different URL(mainly the functionality in the Store). GA will also consider the same scenario.

If you change the current scenario of our plugin then it will affect your “Checkout Behavior” report.

To do the same, you need to create Custom Funnels with “Virtual Pageview” to get the exact scenario.

    Hope this addresses your concern!

    Thanks & Regards!

    Thanks for the detailed reply!

In most themes the checkout cant be viewed without viewing the cart first so it is very important to see drop offs here.

Are you able to provide more help on using a Custom Funnel to track drop offs from the cart page?

    Cheers,
    Jason

    Hi Jason,

You can find online documentations & videos for how to make a custom funnel in Google Analytics.

    Hope that helps!

    Thanks & Regards!
