  • Sorry to be obvious, but have you confirmed that you have turned on event tracking in the plugin’s settings?

What this plugin does is automatically add an “onclick” event to the href in the code. I’m not seeing that onclick on your outgoing links. Since this is added Javascript, it’s possible that another plugin or theme issue is conflicting, though I’ve never seen this happen myself for this functionality.

Would be worth temporarily disabling all plugins except this one and then check if the onclick code shows up correctly.

    Hope that helps?

Yes I did check that. And tried unchecking and rechecking and doing it all again. I have decided to try a different plugin with same capabilities so If that doesn’t work I will go the disable route.

Thanks I will let you know how I go.

If you’re looking for a different plugin to try, I suggest seriously looking at Google Analyticator. It’s been taken over by new developers who are doing an excellent job at keeping it up to date and adding new functionality.

For example, it works out of the box with the new Universal Analytics, enhanced link attribution, has ability to easily add custom code like pagespeed tracking, and includes all the usual event tracking for outbound links, downloads etc. Also includes a widget to display stats in WP Dashboard if you want them. (No affiliation, just happy to find a plugin that’s keeping up with Analytics updates much better).

    Good luck!

That is the one that I have tried. I am still having the same issues. To eleborate I have a custom post type on that page mentioned earlier with just a custom field (the URL of their site) being printed in my theme. Will the js code just be automatically added to any outbound link regardless of its source?

Thanks man. I really need to try and get this working in the next week or so and I cannot understand whats wrong. The problem being that I have other plugins that are required and if I disable it it breaks the site a bit and I can’t get to the link pages.
