Trackbacks not received, pingbacks are.

    OK, I am ready to give up on this. I am able to receive pingbacks, but not the trackbacks. I tested with TestTrack, as well as with Wizbang sites. The error I am getting with a trackback is:

    –
    <response>
    <error>1</error>
    <message>I really need an ID for this to work.</message>
    </response>

    Can anyone help me debug and resolve the problem? I really don’t know where to look, as I seemingly tried everything I could think of. You can use the entry I set up for this: Entry Permalink. Thank you.

    I went back to the default theme setup, and trackbacks worked just fine. Which puts the blame on myself. Something to think about, so I’ve got to dig some code.

    ok, here it is. When you use ‘template_redirect’ action to replace some of the templates or add your own, you should use the ‘load_template()’ and NOT a ‘include()’. The latter does not work. I’ve already seen this problem before, but did not care to remember. Now I think I will.
