Incoming trackbacks give the name of the author as me (instead of the name of the originating blog), and what’s worse, don’t provide any link at all (again, it should link to the originating blog). So instead of showing that somebody is talking about my post, it looks as if I’m adding garbled comments to my own posts! This can be seen here. (If you look at the recent comments in the sidebar, you’ll see that there it does show the name of the originating blog as the name of the commenter.)

I’m using WP 1.5.2 and Semiologic 2.6 at the moment, but I’ve replicated the problem on a test site with 2.6.3 and the unstable release (and no non-semiologic plugins). It doesn’t happen with the default WordPress themes (I can switch back to these and then the trackbacks look fine), and it happens with all the Semiologic themes.

  • I’ll take a look. Thanks for the bug report.

Actually, this is mostyl standard with wordpress. i’ll add a (trackback) and (pingback) following trackbacks and pingbacks in v.3.

Thank you! Trackbacks do indeed work now (on my test site, I’ll wait until its stable to put it on my real site). And the new admin menus are great, btw.

But I’ve noticed a couple of bugs with the 3.0 themes, so I may as well report them here. Firstly, if I enable Strawberry Cream then I get this error when I view the site:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected ')' in .../wp-content/themes/strawberry-cream/header.php on line 7

Secondly, the other Semiologic themes don’t work unless I enable the Admin Menu plugin – otherwise I get:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: the_admin_menu() in .../wp-content/themes/semiologic/header.php on line 34

With Admin Menu enabled, they work perfectly.

    Thanks again for the fix.

fixed. thanks for the bug reports!
