• Hi,
Someone did a trackback to a post in my newly installed WP2.0, but i don’t get any notification of this. I have a custom blog address format, and followed the instructions of what to put in the .htaccess. Everything else seems to work fine. Is there any way i can test tracking back to my own blog easily ?

  • lol.. {pulls out hair}.
So we can now definitely say that we cannot SEND trackbacks with version 2.0.
I’ve been scouring the trac, but can’t seem to find anything. I’ve never submitted a ticket there. Is it hard?
I’ve implemented every fix I could find that has anything to do with TB’s.

I’ve been following this for several days (started a different thread in the forum). I tried the patches, tried the MyPHPAdmin fix and tried the hacked files courtesy of PippenL. Nothing works. I can not send trackbacks from 2.0.

Thanks for opening the ticked citeewurkor. In the meantime I’ve been using this link which someone pointed to in another thread to manually create trackbacks:

    https://www.aylwardfamily.com/content/tbping.asp

It’s a less than ideal workaround obviously, but it works.

Yeah, I used that once. Shouldn’t have to though, right? ??

So, what do we do now? Wait for something to pop up in the “Resolution” field on the trac page?

i wonder did you upgrade from 1.5.2 ? or is a clean 2.0 wp installed ?

if you are upgrade from 1.5.2 , how about setup a clean 2.0 to test the trackback

I did an upgrade. Everything else works except sending trackbacks.
Thanks for the link captainhendry. That’ll come in handy when I need to send a TB.

Just did a fresh install of 2.0 from scratch. Still can not send trackbacks.

Thanks archshrk. That helps a bunch. At least know I know I can receive trackbacks with the legit URL.
Hopefully, something will come of the ticket I submitted. In the meantime, I continue to tinker….

I’m too sleepy to go on. I’ll try to help out tomorrow in the AM. ??

Before I hit the sack I figured I’d try to log into trac. My username/password from here does not work. What am I doing wrong?

Interesting news. I am able to send trackbacks from WP2.0 that resides on my local server. This tells me that the trackback issue is caused by something at my web host.

My host meets the minimum requrements. (permalinks work so that means mod_rewrite is active, right?)

    Any ideas?

PS I still can not sign into trac with my username and password from here.

hmm.. yeah, I just recovered a trackback from you, makemead.
    here

    Does a nightly build work?

ps. The one you sent from you local server came through, too.

OK, so both of those were from my local server (one with the stable version of 2.0 and the second from a nightly build).

That tells me that my server is choking on the trackback.

Guess it would seem so. I’m almost in over my head now. ??
I may have to try a nightly build? And in the meantime use captainhendry’s link to send tb’s.
Has anyone tried a nightly build on their host server?

Nightly build has no effect on this issue.
