Trackback Problems

  • Hello,

    I have scoured the forums for 3 hours now. I am having troubles getting trackback to work on a blog I set up.

    I am running WP 1.5.1.3. The blog is lynnhillblogs.com

    I have tried the tools at : https://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/TestTrack/
    but only proved that my trackbacks don’t work.

    So what should I do next? Should I do a fresh install? It seems this has been an issue in the past and most of the help is focused on the older versions of WP.

    Any ideas?

  • Is it the trackbacks or the pings which do not work? Others have confused the two. My site gathers in the trackbacks just fine, however, the pings from links in posts do not work. No idea why but earlier versions of WP seemed to work fine for me (though others still had problems).

    Try the tools at https://www.redalt.com/External/pingomation.php and quote any and all messages that you receive from both sending and receiving trackbacks.
