Track sign ups with Google Analytics Goals / Conversions

I saw “Find out what happens to your subscribers once they arrive on your site.” but didn’t see anything about goal / conversions setup for the sign up forms?

Ah, thanks for re explaning.

For the signup forms, we don’t offer a way to track the signups as goal in GA. Although this would be useful, it remains a low priority.

This said, you can view the total number of subscriptions for each form. Head over to Wysija Settings > Form tab.

Is it possible to add code to the button? That way I could add a virtual page view to it.

Jamie, if you know your way around code, you can get the php version of the form, or the html version, and add whatever you need there.

I would also like to see this feature implemented into future releases. I access GA much more than the back-end of my website and thus would be a thousand times easier to check.

When using double opt-in you could take advantage of the confirmation page to setup a destination page goal in GA with a regex match.

The link format of the confirmation page is (in my case):
https://mydomain.com/?wysija-page=1&controller=confirm&wysija-key=xxxxxxxxxx&action=subscribe&wysijap=subscriptions&wysiconf=xxxxxxxxxxx

So the regex to match this page could be something like:
/?wysija-page=1&controller=confirm&wysija-key=.*&action=subscribe&wysijap=subscriptions

I’ve got 2 different MailPoet signup forms on the same website and want to track each as a separate goal in GA. Would I use the specific wysija key in the regular expression to configure each goal?

For example, the first confirmation page is:
https://mydomain.com/?wysija-page=1&controller=confirm&wysija-key=118486bfb147f270af582ae3b19c7a57&action=subscribe&wysijap=subscriptions&wysiconf=YToyOntpOjA7czoxOiIzIjtpOjE7czoxOiIxIjt9

and the second is:
https://mydomain.com/?wysija-page=1&controller=confirm&wysija-key=6c5984d81de50f669be53c84aeb59498&action=subscribe&wysijap=subscriptions&wysiconf=YToyOntpOjA7czoxOiIzIjtpOjE7czoxOiIxIjt9

Would the regular expressions be like this?
1. /?wysija-page=1&controller=confirm&wysija-key=118486bfb147f270af582ae3b19c7a57&action=subscribe&wysijap=subscriptions

2. /?wysija-page=1&controller=confirm&wysija-key=6c5984d81de50f669be53c84aeb59498&action=subscribe&wysijap=subscriptions

I hope someone can confirm or correct this for me.

The problem is with tracking the confirmation page is you can’t see where they signed up from (traffic source).

Only way I see to do it is track the signup form button as an event so you can see where people actually come from.

I know it doesn’t mean they confirm the subscription but not sure what else you could do.
