Hello, I am using the theme “make” and tried to place a banner on the first page using 5 different banners with pictures as well as written content (157 words). Everything works so far. The pictures are shown in the background, the words on top of them. As I have to place pretty much written content, 157 words, I spread it on 5 different banners. Everything o.k. in the desktop version. The problem starts with the view on mobile devices, because the written content cannot be read on this scropped screen of a mobile phone, for example. If one banner shows on the desktop version on banner No1 such as 30 words, the mobile version shows only 6-7 words. How can I solve the problem that the mobile version also will display the text somehow, but in full content. Thanks for your help. Chris

  • Hi Chris,

I would recommend you use a Columns section for this kind of display. The Columns section does not set the height, so large amounts of text will not be cut off in mobile.

    Good luck!

Hi Melissa, although it was not, what I was looking for, you gave me a good idea, for combining both of it. Small text in a banner, long text in a 4 column section underneath. Thank you. Best regards. Chris

I have just had to rework much of my website as I had used banners for images overlaid with text and for a wider display width for titles (to break up the narrow width limitation of column content). I’m very disappointed that banners are not truly responsive as Make Plus is described as a ‘responsive theme’.

Also I expected that font size would have responded and reduced on smaller screen sizes. I’m actually getting words cut-off between lines and have had to drop all Header 1 title text to Header 2 as it looks ridiculous on smaller screens. I purchased Make Plus after extensive research into themes and after seeing much praise. If I had time I’d drop it and try another theme but as my site is for my post-grad dissertation and for a live client (business to business) it needs to live, tested and evaluated in 3 weeks I’m stuck. Very frustrated and disappointed.

    Hi @moxiedm

If you have Make Plus, please post your support questions in our Help Center. Here’s the link: https://thethemefoundry.com/support/

The Theme Foundry staff does not monitor the free theme support daily and you’ll get much better service as a paid user over there. ??
