Totally remove pingbacks and trackbacks?
-
I’m aware that WP allows pingbacks and trackbacks to be turned off, but those subsystems still seem to be running in the background and filling up my page output with cruftcruft like:
link rel=”pingback” href=”https://www.makemacwork.com/xmlrpc.php”
and:
df:RDF xmlns:rdf=”https://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#”
xmlns:dc=”https://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/”
xmlns:trackback=”https://madskills.com/public/xml/rss/module/trackback/”What would the procedure be to simply remove (or truly, completely disable) the pingback and trackback mechanisms from a WordPress installation?
