I set up my store to include taxes when displaying prices during cart and checkout. However, the taxes are not showing up neither at the cart nor checkout page.

    Ok, I understand.

Here is the sample product I just created. Let me know if you need anything else.

    Hello,

So sorry to hear that the issue persists, I’ve read all the responses again, may I ask for one more piece of information:

Since you are using a staging site I am assuming its cache is clear, you can try clearing the site cache, here is a tutorial for that.

Also, can you please send us screenshots via https://snipboard.io of the following?

    — General settings

    — Tax settings

    Hi @convospanish,

Can you please resend the first two screenshots?

    Standard rates
    Reduced rate rates

This is what I see when I click on the links.

Once we get all the information we’ll be able to move on with troubleshooting.

    Cheers.

It didn’t seem it worked. Here they are again.

    Reduced rate rates

    Standard rates

    Hi @convospanish,

I think what is happening is they have either a time limit, or they are being overridden by other items; when we look at them we get the message of nothing is here.

So that we do not continue to have a lot of back and forth, give us these things:

    – the city/state/country the shop Base Address is in (not the physical street, the city/state/country can work)
    – The tax Status (inclusive/exclusive) when going to WooCommerce > Tax
    – If it is set to Automated Taxes or Not Automated Taxes (If you do not see this in the Tax settings area, just let us know it is not there)
    – One or Two of your settings in the Standard Tax rate area. (Country, Tax %, shipping applicable, etc).

If you can get us this information, we can test on a staging site of our own and see if we can duplicate the issue. If we cannot, we can share screens of what we have on our side with you, and perhaps help narrow it down.

We look forward to hearing back from you!

    2) Display taxes in shop: exclusive
Display prices during car and check out: inclusive.
    3) Automated/not automated taxes option is not there
    4) standard taxes – Country: USA, City: Denver, Tax %: 4.81%

    Hello,

I was just wondering if I could get an update about how things are going regarding this issue and if there is anything else I can do to help.

    Thanks.

    Hi @convospanish

    Thank you for your reply.

    1) Lakewood, Colorado, USA

I understand this is the address that’s set under WooCommerce > Settings > General > Store Address.

Looking at this screenshot, you’ve set to calculate tax based on the shop address. However, there is no tax set for the shop address under Standard tax rates. The zip code 80246 seems to be Glendale, not Lakewood.

Can you try adding another tax rate that covers your shop address to Standard rates, and check if the tax rate show up properly on the cart page?

    Ok, it worked!

However, now I am confused about something.

It is my understanding that the city where I am doing business from is in charge of collecting the sales taxes. In my case, this city is Denver. However, I registered my business in Lakewood (a city nearby). So, under the Store Address section I added the address where I registered my business (Lakewood), but under “Standard” tax rates I added Denver’s sale tax rate.

Is there a way I can set it up like this without having problems? or should I just add under Store Address the address where I am conducting my business from?

    Do you have any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Hi @convospanish!

I am glad that the issue is now resolved for you ??

    Do you have any suggestions?

We can’t give a suggestion on that! WooCommerce will calculate taxes either way however, I’d suggest consulting a tax professional about that as it may have legal implications and it will highly depend on that.

I will now mark this thread as resolved, in the meantime, if you need help with anything else please feel free to open a new one.
