Total Price Changes to 0 After Changing Customer Account on Order

    I’m having some issues with orders being assigned to the wrong customer (which is a different issue in itself). However, I am going through and manually changing the customer account on orders to match the person who actually ordered it. When I do so, the total changes to 0. Is there any way to fix this afterwards/prevent it from happening in the first place?

    I also just noticed that it removed all items that were purchased on that order. You can still see the payment total that was made but not the order total with the items the customer purchased.

    Sorry to see you’re running into an issue editing orders on your site, I’d like to get a few details to see how we can help.

    First, can you expand a little on how this starts? You said incorrect customers are being attached to orders, this is problematic inherently and may be causing additional issues with those orders. How long has this been going on, how do you see the behavior present itself?

    Second, I’d like to get a look at what is running on the site as well as some configuration information, could you please send me a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.

    I recently noticed the issue, but I think it occurred when I imported users and orders from a staging site back in May. From some research, I have a hunch that I maybe imported orders before users, but I don’t remember. It appears to only be on some orders within a year span. Orders from 2014-2019 are okay, but I think 2020-early 2021 have some issues. Some orders will be attached to the incorrect customer. Some customers have said they can see other people’s orders under their account.

    I recently noticed the issue, but I think it occurred when I imported users and orders from a staging site back in May. From some research, I have a hunch that I maybe imported orders before users, but I don’t remember.

    Yes, that could definitely do it. Orders are assigned to customers using a user ID, which are numeric IDs that auto-increment when a new user is created. So the first user on the site will have an ID of one, the second user will have an ID of 2, etc. If user 1 on the old site is different than user 1 on the new site, the orders would get assigned to the wrong customers and cause the issue you’re seeing.

    How did you import everything? Would it be possible to reimport it and overwrite the previously imported items, or is that not an option at this point?

    I think I just used the export/import that’s built into WordPress tools, if not I maybe used Advanced Order Export For WooCommerce. I could maybe reimport it, but would I be able to not overwrite orders received since I did the last import? I want to make sure we don’t lose our orders from May-now.

    I believe that you mean by above is that you don’t want to lose orders from May-now on your Live Site?

    I think the best forward perhaps to export first the orders from that point up now (from where you initially imported data from staging).

    Because if you reimport, it might overwrite the orders from that point up now.

    Also, I think this is a bit complicated and I suggest that you work with WooCommerce Experts to help you resolve the issue
