I’ve just opened a hosting account (tonight, in fact) with Blue Host and have established a domain name (not live yet). It’s my understanding that because I’m with Blue Host I’ve already got WordPress installed, but I’ll be damned if I can find it. I’m on a PowerBook G4 running OSX (Panther). Any and all help most appreciated.

  • Look in your control panel and they may have the ability to set up wordpress automatically. My server has ‘fantastico’ installed which will do this. See if you have this feature in your control panel.

Thanks. I just looked and it’s there. Though when I click on Fantastico, I get an info panel, not a dialogue box that allows me to actually download it. Is there something else I need to do?

You don’t download it. You install it from the cpanel. Click on the word “WordPress” in the left hand column and it should bring up this:

Short description: WordPress is a personal publishing tool with focus on aesthetics and featuring cross-blog tool, password protected posts, importing, typographical niceties, multiple authors, bookmarklets.

    New Installation (1.5.1.2)

Where it says “New Installation” you click and it should walk you through it from there.
