• Hi,
I am a total newbie in using a host and WordPress. I have been running blogs on TypePad for three years, where I had no worries about servers and directories and FTP and such. Now, here I am, having graduated to civilization, with my hosting plan up and running, a brand new domain name already resolving on my host’s servers, WP installed through Fantastico, and me sitting here and not knowing how to actually log in to my WP installation to start experimenting. I know this sounds entirely elementary, but if you can show me how to reach my WP installation and get to the Dashboard, I could start working on actually launching my blog (Epithesis Now. com). Many, many thanks for your pointers.

or, if your blog is in a subdirectory:
    yourdomain.com/subdirectoryname/wp-admin

Thanks moshu! I entered epithesisnow.com/wp-admin and got an HTTP 404 Not Found reply. I went to my File Manager and I see that wp-admin is under public_html/wordpress. I then tried epithesisnow.com/public_html/wordpress/wp-admin, but got an error page again (scratching head)…

    It should be
    epithesisnow.com/wordpress/wp-admin
(you never put “public_html” in an address – that’s where all your website files are supposed to be)

Thanks again. I did as above but a 404 page appeared again. Maybe there’s something wrong with the installation (?) I’ll drop a note to the Support people at the host. But, again, thanks for your prompt responses. At least, I know there’s a helpful WP community out there, something that I could never claim for TypePad…
