Hi, I have a client site that has been live running no issues for 4 years. Just this week, we are having issues with the total of Woocommerce Checkout showing incorrect figure.

Freight already includes GST with a 3rd party plugin by Dotstore which is working no issues.

Woocommerce settings are pricing inc GST everywhere for customers to see.

    Freight is GST inc

Woocommerce setting for GST/VAT is ticked for freight with GST

If I untick this setting in the GST section, then freight shows $9.09 which is NOT what I want and GST figure is correct in Total.

If I tick this in Woocommerce Settings for GST the freight shows correctly as $10 and GST component in checkout shows correctly (but total amount is incorrect).

It’s like something is not talking to each other?

Below it shows the correct GST (which should be $35 + $10 = $45/11 = $4.09).. Both figures above $35 and $10 already inc GST.

But total is incorrect as it has added GST to the Total BUT Tax is correct.

    I’m totally confused.

    Example below

    Your order Product Subtotal
    Davis Instruments ×?1 $35.00

    Total Shipping: $10.00

    Total <bdi>$45.91</bdi><small>(includes <bdi>$4.09</bdi> Tax)</small>

If I do a test order and check under ORDERS it shows the Product as ex GST in the Order section

    Freight : $10.00

Subtotal: $35 Shipping: $10.00 GST: $4.09 Order Total: $45.91 Paid:

I have ruled out plugins as issue.

Woocommerce is at latest. All plugins at latest.

What else could be causing this ?
    Thanks

    Kristin

    Hi @kristinubute

Based on the information you’ve provided, it seems there could be a conflict between the settings of your WooCommerce tax configuration and the Dotstore plugin you’re using for freight calculation. This conflict might be causing the incorrect total calculation.

Here are a few steps that you can take to help resolve this issue:

    • Re-check Tax Settings: Ensure that the tax settings in WooCommerce are correctly configured. You mentioned that you have set the prices to include tax. Please make sure that Yes, I will enter prices inclusive of tax is selected under Tax options.
    • Check Dotstore Plugin Settings: Since the Dotstore plugin is handling the freight calculation, a setting within the plugin itself might be causing the issue. I recommend checking the plugin settings to ensure that they align with your WooCommerce tax settings.
    • Troubleshoot Theme and Plugin Conflicts: Although you’ve ruled out plugins as the issue, there might be a conflict with your theme or another plugin that is impacting the checkout page. To rule this out, temporarily switch to a default theme like Storefront and disable all plugins except WooCommerce and Dotstore. If the issue resolves, you can reactivate your theme and plugins one by one to identify which one is causing the conflict.

If you’ve tried the above steps and the issue still persists, I would recommend reaching out to Dotstore’s support team. Since their plugin is handling the freight calculations, they might be able to provide more insight into the issue.

I hope this helps! Please let us know how it goes or if you need further assistance.
