Hello @nono91
I am sorry about the issue you are experiencing and I am happy to assist you with this.
Can you please completely remove W3 Total Cache and re-install and please share you website URL:
1. Purge Cache
2. Deactivate and Delete Plugin
3. Check .htaccess File (make backup)
W3TC will create many directives in .htaccess file to control the caching behavior. Each section will start and end with comments like “#BEGIN W3TC Page Cache core” and “#END W3TC Page Cache core”.
Ensure that no residual entries are left over in your .htaccess file after deleting the plugin.
4. Delete wp-content files and folders
– cache folder
– w3tc-config folder
– object-cache.php (if exists)
– advanced-cache.php (if exists)
– dbcache.php (if exists)
– upgrade folder
– delete w3-total-cache folder in wp-content/plugins/ (if exists)
5. Delete Cached Files from CDN (if using CDN)
Besides deleting all the relevant files, if you use CDN then ensure to purge the cached content from your CDN. This is necessary when you enabled the minify option in W3TC settings. You should delete the minified and combined scripts and CSS files from your CDN server to avoid the site breaking on the browser.6. Re-install W3 Total Cache.
Thanks!Hello,
I’ve done all the requested actions and now, when I’m going to the wizard setup page, the “Test Page Cache” button has no effect.

Can you please enable the option
Anonymously track usage to improve product quality
in Perfofmrance>General settings>Miscellaneous, save all settings and see if the issue persists and if you still have the console errors?
Make sure that Minify is disabled for logged in users in Performance>Minify.
Also please try applying this fix (There is a pending updated for this issue to be fixed)
Thanks!Hello,
With ” Anonymously track usage” enabled, the button is working but the “Test Page Cache” is still not working.
Result is several message ” Could not update configuration. Please reload the page to try again or click skip button to abort the setup guide.” And following errors in browser web console:
Le script à l’adresse ? https://api.w3-edge.com/v1/analytics ? a été chargé alors que son type MIME (? application/json ?) n’est pas un type MIME JavaScript valide.

I have tried all the steps listed in this article, but still, have the error; Could not update configuration. Please reload the page to try again or click skip button to abort the setup guide.
It started working somewhere along the way; sorry for the post; it seems to be working now.
Just mentioning in case it helps someone like me. The solution in this post didn’t work for me. I tried to enable the cache manually instead of setup wizard and it gave me an error that fancy permalinks are disabled. I enabled the fancy permalinks and it worked!.
Hi!
Just look into php error log, in my case the php-curl was missing, after install the wizard worked very well.
