Torunament problem

Hello,
I’ve set up a soccer tournament. Saving the tournament will create each events. Events created does not have a player lists associated to the teams so I edit the event to add player lists.
After the end of each event I update player stats and event result in the event page.The problem shows up if I edit the tournament and the save it as every event is overwritten removing every stats I entered on the player list. Only the event outcome is preserved.
How con I solve this problem?
