I am assisting a client with setting up Gamipress for a Learndash powered website. When attempting to set up an achievment where the user has completed a topic with a tag of x, the dropdown for the tags is blank.

    So far we have:
    – tested for conflicts with the theme
    – switched off other plugins to test for conflicts
    – double checked that topic is tagged rather than has a category

The dropdown for “course of a tag” is working with all course tags showing, but tags don’t appear for lessons or topics.

    Hi @teachallaboutit !

I would be more than happy to assist you today.

I just did a test on my WordPress and it is working perfectly, here you can see in my screenshots how it loads the tags.

    tags

The drop-town is smart and only loads tags in use to avoid configuring it with tags that are not attached to anything.
That’s why it only loads the tags in use and not the rest.

    Hope it helps!

Thanks for your reply. The tags we are expecting to see are the tags which have been saved on topics in a published course – these are live tags for topics, but do not appear in our case.

When you reference tags that are in use, could you confirm what would differentiate between a used & unused tag aside from attaching it to a topic?

    Best wishes

    Hi @teachallaboutit

Exactly, what @pacogon means is that our dropdown for that is designed to load only tags in used (aka assigned to something) if the tags you have are not assigned to anything, they will not appear to prevent configure requirements on tags that are not in used (not assigned to anything)

@pacogon did a test with both, topic and lesson tags that are in use and the dropdown worked correctly as you can see here:

    Hope it helps!

    Hi Ruben,

The tags we are missing are assigned to topics, so are in use. Tags work exactly as shown for courses, but not for lessons or topics.

    Hi @teachallaboutit

    Seems really strange…

Do you have the latest version of everything? GamiPress, LearnDash and our integration?

If no, please, update them to the latest version and test it

If yes, have you tried to perform a conflict test?
There is an explanation about how to perform this: https://gamipress.com/docs/troubleshooting/theme-and-plugins-conflict-test/

    Hope it helps!

    Hi @rubengc
Latest version of Gamipress was installed this morning, Learndash updated to latest version, and integration is installed. All other plugins are updated & as in the original post we have :

    – tested for conflicts with the theme
    – switched off other plugins to test for conflicts
    – double checked that topic is tagged rather than has a category

    Hi @teachallaboutit!

As you can see in the screenshots, in a clean installation it is working.

    tags

I recommend that you perform a test on a fresh install leaving only the 3 necessary plugins installed.
You can do this by clicking on this link where it will create a test site with GamiPress installed. https://tastewp.com/new/?pre-installed-plugin-slug=gamipress
If the new installation does not work, then try a previous version of Learndash as sometimes the latest version can be buggy.

    Hope it helps!
