Topic subscribe from dashboard not sending emails

    Hello, Thank you for your great plugin, it fills in so many holes.

    We have noticed what I think is one small error. When we use this plugin subscribe a user to a Topic the emails are not being sent.

    I have used the ‘Sent test email’ and selected ‘Send a test topic email’ which does not send an email. The ‘Send test reply email’ does work.

    Do you have suggestions on what I might be doing wrong in the setup? Or is this a known issue.

    The send test topic works on my test site, and I’ve not had his reported elsewhere.

    are you using the subscription emails tab to amend the content of topic messages?

    and is item 4 on the subscription emails ticked?

    Hello Robin, Thank you for your very fast response. I have just made a small donation, I really appreciate your effort.

    The test email in setting work this time for the topic test email. Bizarre.

    But still can’t get the email to send when using the Manage Subscriptions – Manage subscriptions for Topics. I select and Subscribe selected users – but no email goes to them. I have the user in a role that is selected in the settings to send emails. Any suggestions please.

    thanks, I am not quite sure what you are asking.

    That section sets up the emails. No email is sent when you add or take away a subscription. An email is only sent when a new topic is posted in a forum to which the user (or you) have selected to receive emails.

    Is that what you mean, or do you mean that despite you subscribing someone to a forum, they are not receiving emails when a new topic is posted?

    I created a test forum (private) then subscribed 1 user to this forum. I created a test topic on this test forum. The user did not receive an email.

    Do you have a way to send emails when a user is subscribed to a topic. Or when a new topic is created in a forum that a user is subscribed to that they get an email about the topic.

    Hello, Thank you for your support. Issues cleared.

    The problem was that we were creating Topics in the dashboard, which didn’t trigger emails.

    When we created Topics in the front end of the site it emailed no worries.

    ok, thanks that is interesting – I will take a look at why, it would seem logical to email from whereever a topic is created.
