We actually now have 2 other issues. Can not use until fixed…

    1. how does a user can logout?
    2. how does a user reply to a post? yes allow comments is checked.
    3. still can not change post background after they click on the post title as shared above. tried setting under customize / discussion board etc.

    Hi @voicetoons,

Thanks for reaching out to us. This might be a conflict with WPDB and the theme you were using. May we know what theme and theme version you were using for us to troubleshoot further?

    Regarding the other issues:

    1. Please refer to our plugin documentation to create a user logout. Please refer to this link https://wpdiscussionboard.com/docs/shortcodes/.
    2. To enable users to reply to topics, you may find the setting Permitted poster roles under Discussion Board >> Settings >> User and ensure the user has met the permissions.

Thanks and I am waiting for your response.

    Regards,
    Mej, from WPDB team

Thank you seems this is always a theme conflict with others having these same issues too.

We are using on theme Home Theatre PRO Ver 3.0 by SKT Themes and have many plugins with no conflicts. PHP 8.3.

    Thank you for any support.

    Hi @voicetoons,

Thanks for the update. Please try using this CSS code:

    body.discussion-topics-template-default.single.single-discussion-topics.custom-background.ctdb-layout-classic.ctdb-single-layout-classic.ctdb-skt-home-theatre-pro.ctdb-user-can-view.ctdb-user-cannot-post { background-color: #fff !important; }

Also please check if the Use theme templates setting under Discussion Board >> Settings >> Design is enabled or disabled and try checking out if there are differences. This might also fix the background issue within the theme and Discussion Boards without applying the CSS code.

Thanks and let us know how it goes.

Thank you still black background code made no difference if design tab was in or off.

Turning on comments under wp / admin / general / discussion lets the user submit comment on board only. Should this not be sent by email? Even cleared cloud flare cache.

But still no white background as seen in screenshot links.

Thoughts? Thank you for the help and care.

Thanks that is no help. Guess we just need to remove the board. Changing the background color is the only way users can see page text. We even changed it in customize / discussion board and added your code above to css. Any other ideas are welcome before we do so…

    Hi @voicetoons ,

I noticed that the WP Discussion Board plugin is no longer active on your website. I noticed the shortcode on this page: https://voradioonline.com/topics/. It might be a good idea to remove the pages where the WPDB shortcodes were used to improve the user experience.

Thank you for giving our plugin a try! We understand that at times, theme-specific CSS conflicts can arise, and adjustments are necessary to meet UI/UX requirements.

If you decide to revisit the plugin in the future, we’re always here to help with any customizations or questions you may have. And if you’re a Pro user, we always welcome you to get support directly from our website.

    Thank you,
    Mej, from WPDB team
