    Hello!

I’m not sure if it’s just me, but I can’t get the Top Bar to show up on the homepage only. I’ve changed the setting under ‘Control Options’ from the default C. to A. Always shows the TopBar on the Home Page regardless of any other criteria entered on this page. I haven’t changed any other settings on the ‘Control Options’ page. Option B. works just fine, but options A & C shows the top bar on all pages.

    Please help me trouble shoot.

    Thanks In Advance!

Is your blog setup to show a static front page? If so, you need to set the TopBar to only show on that static pagid.

    Hey,

Thanks for getting back in touch. My site is set to use the latest posts. It is not set to static. I turned off the w3 total cache plugin & cleared my own cache, but it’s still showing up on all pages when set to the A or C option. It was also a fresh install just last week.

Is there anything else I can do before re-installing it again?

    Hi Again,

I was finally able to get the top bar to show up on the homepage only, but I had to set the page id to some random number other than 0 (and hope that I don’t have a page id under that number). I just don’t recall that ever being the case. Leaving the page id field blank would work the same as 0.

Thanks so much for the plugin though!

Oh goodness, sorry to do this again, but now that I have the homepage thing sort of figured out, what settings would I need to have in order to have only pages showing the top bar (excludes homepage & categories)?

I’ve had it set to Option B, Page Id 0 include, Category Id 0 exclude, A-D conditions. I’ve tried setting it Options C & A just to see what happens, choosing random category ID numbers, etc. I suppose I could individually include the page Ids, but I have an avg of 12 pages over a mid-size multi-site so I prefer to use a blanket is_page.

    Thanks so much again!

OK — thanks for giving me more details!! Very Helpful!!

I’ll dig into the code and I’ll try to find the defect.

Now that I’ve looked at the code.. I can see how it can be confusing.

So, I will rename option “C” to “Conditionally” and add a new option “D” to “Only”

The new option “D” will only show the TopBar on the homepage.

It will come out in the next release.

Thanks so much for helping make the plugin more useful.

    Bob
