I used the free version of WPVivid and created a staging site. In working on the staging site I saw (and liked) the top menu bar was orange rather than black. After the work was done, I created a new backup on the staging site, downloaded it, and uploaded it to the production site. I then used it for Restore. Everything seems to have worked fine, except the top bar on the production site is now orange, not black. How do I restore it to black?

    Hello,

In this case, you can resolve it by installing the WP phpMyAdmin plugin, which will allow you to access your database and delete the “wpvivid_staging_data” table (note that the table prefix may vary depending on the setup you used when creating the staging site).

    Kind regards.

I tried using the phpMyAdmin in cPanel first, but saw 5 databases and searching for wpvivid or for staging returned no results.

I installed the plugin and went to Enter local phpMyAdmin.

I found one entry wpi1_wpvivid_options and 64 entries that start as wpvividstg01_. None were _staging_data or had “staging” as part of the name other than the “stg” in the initial field.

    I’m thoroughly confused.

    Hello,

To remove the orange top bar, access the options table and delete the entry named ‘wpvivid_staging_data’. Afterwards, please let us know if the issue is resolved.

    Kind regards.

Unlike my previous attempt, I am now having trouble getting past the top level of the database. I believe that’s a phpAdmin issue of some sort. I think I was logged into the hosting account the first time, but I am not now and currently can’t do that.

I will need to work on that. I am still interested and need the help.

After you resolved the php MyAdmin issue, access the options table and delete the entry named ‘wpvivid_staging_data’.

I got access to the full list of database sections. (I don’t know what was different) There is no section called ?‘wpvivid_staging_data’.

There are 4 tables with “option” in their names.

wpi1_options, This has 21 entries with the string: “wpv”, but none are what you specified. The closest is “wpvivid_staging_data”

    wpi1_wpvivid_options: This has zero rows.

wpvividstg01_options: This has 20 entries with the string “wpv”, but none as you specified. Those 20 have 3 with “staging”: wpvivid_staging_history, wpvivid_staging_task_list, wpvivid_staging_data

    wpvividstg01_wpvivid_options: This has zero rows.

Here’s a list of all tables that result from filtering for “wpvivid”

    Hello,

Before making any changes to your database, it’s recommended to back up your database. Then, on the live site, identify the database table prefix. Finally, locate the options table and delete the entry named ‘wpvivid_staging_data’.

    Thread Starter JKEngineer

    (@jkengineer)

On 6/9, I deleted the entry shown as “row” below:

    Database: nysspesu_wp619

    Table: wpvividstg01_options

    Row: wpvivid_staging_data

The top bar color was not affected. I logged out and back in, still orange.

    Restore the database. Forced logout.

Logged in.? Went to check restored content in database.? Get this error:

    Error in processing request

    Error code: 200

    Error text: parsererror (rejected)

It seems that the connection to server has been lost. Please check your network connectivity and server status.

Repeat the database restore. Have the WP phpMyAdmin plugin turned off for the restore.

On logging in again, it is turned on.

    Still getting error.

Tried in MS Edge.? Did not get error.

Shows the list of tables.? Can filter for optio.? Won't load wpvividstg01_options.? Close the window and do a full backup.

Now I am not getting the list of tables.

Deactivate / activate.? The phpMyAdmin page loads, but is not responsive.

Try in Chrome again.? Get the error above.

    I left it alone.

On 6/12/24, I logged into the staging site and its top bar was black, not orange. I logged into the production site, still orange. In the production site, I reactivated the WP phpMyAdmin plugin and had no issues accessing the tables in Chrome (other than the first attempt gave me a 1 hour timeout – which has happened multiple times before).

I seem to be dealing with issues of both WPVivid and the WP phpMyAdmin plugins. I think leaving the top bar orange may be the wisest decision.

    Hello @jkengineer

Sorry that we should have been clearer.

The ‘wpvivid_staging_data’ is in the _options (it is wp_options in a default WordPress install) table of the live site database since you are trying to remove the orange bar from the live site.

Btw, publish a staging site using a migration method is not recommended, the recommended way is to use the ‘Copy the staging site to live’ option which will handle everything automatically.

    All the best,
