Hi, Following the page, how to create the front page https://www.shapedpixels.com/setup-longevity/how-to-create-a-front-page-like-the-live-demo

    1. I set up the My front page and chose Template sidebars only from the dropdown and published with a title Front Page.

    2. Set up images and copy/pasted the text supplied on the above page from your instructions into Top 1, 2, 3 and 4. I replaced the first link (top1) and left the rest as is for testing purposes (top 2to4). I chose show on the front page only and hit save.

Nothing appears on my page and when I view the source, I see nothing related. What am I doing wrong? I have read the instructions numerous times and went over everything and still I must be missing something.

    Thank you for the help!

I thought I would follow up here before I call it a night….you mentioned you selected to show on the Front Page, but I wanted to make sure the other setting is set as “Show” or “Hide” ?

Also, do you have a link to your front page?

I always forget the link, so sorry https://www.liquidexplosion.net

Yes, I chose show from the dropdown box and then checked front, then save. Thanks so much. No rush.

    I think I know the problem…

If this is for your front page, you need to go to Settings >> Reading

Then select the page that is going to be your front page and the one for displaying your blog posts ??

Basically you need to do what WordPress calls a “Static Front Page

But it’s important to make sure your site’s front page is set to be your front page and not as an innrt page that is current not your front page (like the link you have on your menu at this moment)….hopefully that made sense what I just said being as it’s 1am for me here ??

ohhh you are a wordpress genius lol thank you so much, I would have never figured that one out. I have so much to learn……..Thank you again for your time! all fixed, now to just juggle some things around. Have a good night!

    Hello,

I tried this trick, but it resulted in redirecting my blog feed completely out of the picture. I had to relabel my front page, and my home page, which is listed as Spirit, since my site will be a multisite with subdomains. I found that I got the front page loaded, but even when I did what you said here with the static front page, it still did not cause my widgets to load; not the call to action, nor the 4 widgets. In order not to lose my main page – blog roll, I have to leave the setting at latest blog posts, or else, I completely lose that page. Have you got any advice for me? Thanks.
