• Hi Jamel,

a great work!!! I haven’t realized that you updated your plugin. I wait for automatic notification from WP that this plugin has a new version so we had used the version PRO 4.3.8.1 until today.

So, I installed the version 5.0.3 and, unfortunately, found 2 bugs:

    1. A quite big problem regarding plural forms of keywords. If we have the plural form on the web but the keyword is in the singular form in the Tooltip glossary, the plural form will be replaced with the singular one.

See the page https://www.sketchengine.eu/pos-tags/ where the 1st sentence contains “POS tag” and when you open the source of this page, you will that we have written POS tags but the plugin replaces it.

    2. Excluding bold texts (and probably other types of texts) works but it excluded the particular keyword from the whole page. For example, the 1st instance of the keyword is in the tags – it is excluded but no following instance of this keyword does not a link to glossary. I turned off this setting but you can make a copy of the following page with the keyword “corpus” https://www.sketchengine.eu/ententen-english-corpus/ and check it.

    Hello,

still no answer. I had to switch back to the version 4.3.8.1 because the replacing plural forms by the single ones cannot be ignored.

    Hi @michalske,

1st I’m so sorry about these 3 weeks of delay but I’m dealing new commitments.
About the 2nd point, you can now exclude HTML tags like strong, b, abr … but you have to down load the v5.0.3 pre-release from github :
    https://github.com/lebleut/tooltipy/releases/tag/v5.0.3

    Best regards,
    Jamel

    Hi Jamel.Z,

thank you for your answer. I am looking forward to fixing the 1st bug. About the 2nd thing, there is no problem with excluding a particular text type, such as strong etc. However, if I use this excluding, all occurrences of the particular keyword are excluded, so also the second occurrence which is not written in bold.
    For example:
The English Web <strong>Corpus</strong> (enTenTen) is an English corpus made up of texts collected from the Internet. The corpus belongs to the TenTen corpus family which is a set of web corpora built using the same method with a target size 10+ billion words.
The excluding feature turns off the tooltip for the first occurrence of the word corpus but the second occurrence without bold will not have the tooltip too.
Did I explain it clear what is the heart of the issue? I wanted so that the 1st keyword in bold doesn’t have the tooltip, but the 2nd one in the “common” font has.
(I switched to the version 5.0.3 so you can see the problem e.g. on https://www.sketchengine.eu/ententen-english-corpus/)

    Hi back @michalske,

Regarding the 1st issue plural form it is fixed in the last version here (5.1.3) I tested it :

    • By checking the “This Keyword is a Prefix” option for the keyword we need to match it’s plural form
    • Or even by adding it’s plural form to the “Synonyms” option

Please update Tooltipy and let me know if that helps
    Thanks

    Hi again,

thank you for letting me know. It seems the 1st problem is solved. The 2nd still persists. Moreover, I found a problem with missing spaces in the following case https://www.sketchengine.eu/estonian-reference-corpus/
the keyword is “POS tag”. May the problem relate to the fact we have also the keyword “tag” only? Both these two toolpipy do not have checked the prefix option, only types synonyms (the plural form – POS tags, tags).
