Tooltips creating large gaps between paragraphs

When you create a tooltip, it has all of the text required to generate the tooltip. e.g. [su_tooltip text=”Hoverover Text”]Displayed Text[/su_tooltip]
When it displays on a webpage, the only text shown is Displayed Text.
However, when being displayed on my page, it takes up the same amount of space as if the entireity of the text used to generate the tooltip was there.
This is creating a large gap between content on my page. Is there a way to fix this?
