Tooltip breaks card on archive page

I’ve inherited a site with CM Tooltip Glossary on it. I updated it from version 3.7.2 to 4.0.6.

I now have a problem on archive pages. Where there is a glossary term, the card layout breaks and some extra tags appear in the DOM.

Currently, I have disabled CM Tooltip on archive pages via the ‘Only show terms on single posts/pages (not Homepage, authors etc.)?’ option, but ideally, I’d like it to work.
